I Write
Picture books
filled with
big feelings,
bigger nonsense,
and the occasional Chaos goblin.

I wasn’t always sure books were meant for me

Ever feel one beat behind everyone else? Same.

I didn’t grow up in a particularly bookish home, so I know how easy it is to feel like reading is for other kids. I write stories that feel welcoming instead of intimidating. It’s like the literary equivalent of someone scooting over on the couch and saying, “You’re good. Come sit with us. We have snacks.”

My writing has been shaped by the 12x12 Picture Book Challenge, Inked Voices, The Writing Barn, SCBWI, and my wildly talented critique group, Chicka Chicka Zoom Zoom.

I was selected as a 2026 PB Rising Stars mentee and was a runner-up in 2023, 2024, and 2025—which either demonstrates healthy persistence or the refusal to take a hint. I’ve also received honors from PBParty, 50 Precious Words, and the Kids’ Choice Kidlit Writing Contest.

Armed with a BA in English from Boston University and an MSJ from Northwestern University, I’ve spent the last couple of decades in fashion and beauty copywriting, using my very expensive degrees to write phrases like “soft-focus luminosity” and name lipstick shades for a living.

I am also a Kidlit Zombie Week co-host, retired five-time New York City Marathon runner, aspiring (and deeply inconsistent) watercolorer, regular browser at the Brooklyn Public Library, and someone who now answers to “Mommy” like it’s my government name.

This bio feels like more than enough, but you can find me on Instagram.

Bluesky and I are still figuring things out.
